UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS (UPG) PROJECT

CDM is an interdenominational ministry committed to Christlikeness, discipleship and world evangelism. Our core mandate involves mobilizing, equipping and sending workers for God into every part of society and the world to help us finish the task of world evangelism within one generation.

Our strategy is intentional and structured Christlike disciple-making. We currently operate in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America, as we work to reach unreached people groups, first in Ghana, and then all over the world.

What is an Unreached People Group?

An Unreached People Group (UPG) refers to a community or ethnic group that has little to no access to the gospel and Christian teachings. Typically, less than 2% of the population in such a group are evangelical Christians, and there may be no indigenous church or believers within the group. These groups often live in areas where Christianity has not penetrated, making it difficult for them to hear about or engage with the Christian faith. In Ghana, there are 20 unreached people groups.

CDM Missions Efforts

Christlike Disciplemakers Movement has been committed to the goal of Christlikeness, discipleship, and world evangelism  since its establishment in 2007. As an organization, our conviction is that the Great Commission can be fulfilled within one generation if we win the lost, mobilize the Body of Christ, and bring in the harvest. We achieve this by providing structured training, and raising and sending teams of Christlike disciplemakers who are equipped to go into their world and, according to their God-given ministry lines, bring in a harvest of souls into the Kingdom.

Our UPG Project recruits, trains, deploys and resources missionaries in teams of two to evangelize and disciple unreached tribes. Our approach focuses on raising indigenous disciples within the tribe who are trained and equipped to lead in evangelization and discipleship efforts. Currently, CDM has deployed a total of 25 missionaries among 14 unreached tribes in Ghana and in Nigeria.

Our Campus Missions Project deploys trained labourers to SHS and tertiary campuses to disciple young people.

Our National Service Personnel In Missions (NASPIM) Project mobilizes, trains and deploys tertiary students to make  disciples wherever they find themselves posted as National Service personnel.

God is mobilizing His people for the last great push to win the world for Jesus. What are you doing to be a part of His great work?

We believe that we are not alone: all over the world, God is raising strategic partnerships, relocating disciplemakers, breaking through in schools, churches and continents, and providing money. He is releasing greater gifts of the Holy Spirit in abundance, shattering the power of Satan, and displaying His manifold wisdom in the use of technology. He is orchestrating global events, climates, political shifts and economies to accomplish His irrefutable purpose.

Even now, He is sounding the alarm to rally the old and the young, men and women, with a desperate passion to bring home the lost sheep, the lost coin, the lost son. What a joy to be part of His great work!

Brother, sister, do not lose focus now. Let us not yield to distractions or to fear.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matt. 24:14

Updates from the Field

Every year on the Project has been a remarkable journey of faith, as we have witnessed the transformative power of the Gospel across multiple mission fields. From reaching the unreached to discipling believers and planting churches, the impact of our collective efforts continues to bear fruit. These updates testify to God’s faithfulness in expanding His Kingdom. Let us continue to pray for open doors, boldness and provision for missionaries, and growth in discipleship and house fellowships. Join us to deepen and expand our work.

  • Mamprusi: In the first half of the year, missionaries Emmanuel and Florence reached over 1,000 students through school outreach, with 87 salvations and 22 rededications. A newly planted church in Zandoa hosted an Easter convention. By the end of the year, an additional 1,530 people were exposed to the Gospel, with 69 decisions for Christ, 21 baptisms, and notable testimonies, including healing and deliverance. Key testimonies include how the Chief of Bugsa surrendered his life to Christ, and a Muslim woman encountered Jesus in a dream and accepted Him.
  • Nanumba: Missionaries Francis and Freda nurtured 35 active disciples through fasting, prayer, and partnerships with Assemblies of God. Thirty people were reached, with 11 decisions for Christ in the second half of the year. Notable testimonies include a family healed from generational miscarriages.
  • Gonja: Missionaries Wilson and Jerome reached 39 individuals in February, with six decisions for Christ. Evangelism activities in hospitals and schools resulted in vibrant discipleship programs, including 50 disciples each at Ndewura Jakpa SHS and Damongo SHS. May saw 10 more salvations through hospital evangelism. In the second half of the year, 20 more were exposed to the Gospel, leading to the establishment of 61 disciples. Testimonies include healing and the growth of house churches.
  • Busanga: Missionary Nicholas Akumasi reported four salvations through market evangelism and established 13 disciples, five of whom are Busangas. Evangelism and discipleship continued in Gumyoko, resulting in 40 salvations by the end of the year.
  • Anufo: Missionaries Chris and Epiphany reached 27 individuals in the first half of the year, with three receiving Holy Spirit baptism. By year-end, 16 active disciples were established, with five deliverances and three baptisms. Though the missionaries have left the field, their work will be carried on by a new team.
  • Akyode: Missionary Douglas has been leading the work with ongoing discipleship at Abrewankor among the Akyodes after a CDM Bible School was organized among the people. He has also started a Bible Listening Group at Shiari. Apart from evangelism and visitation, other active nightly discipleship meetings are on hold because of the curfew in the area. We pray for God's peace in Nkwanta, where missions activities have had to pause due to unrest in the area.
  • Challa: Missionary Nathan reports that discipleship is thriving among the Challa people, particularly among the children and teenagers, who meet with him multiple times a week. There is also a weekly discipleship meeting at Alege among the older folks. However, the conflict between the Challa and Akyode people groups has stalled discipleship in Odomi. We pray for God's miraculous healing for Nathan.
  • Chakali: Missionaries Balamo Matere and Kokube Emmanuel planted six house churches in Katua and three in Yaala. Crusades in Gbantala and Duccie led to 29 salvations and 16 baptisms. Evangelism efforts expanded to Kulung and Tisa, resulting in five new house churches. A CDMBC session was held.
  • Banda-Ligbi: Missionary Mary’s efforts led to 103 salvations in the first half of the year, followed by 242 in the second half. Discipleship programs spanned multiple communities, with notable testimonies of deliverance from spiritual oppression and transformed lives. A CDMBC session was held in the final week of 2024.
  • Waala: Missionaries Abu Suleman and Jennifer recorded 32 salvations across the year. Discipleship thrived, with 17 active disciples at Wa Senior High Technical. Devotions at vocational institutions and local churches strengthened spiritual growth.
  • Basare: In the first half of the year, 14 churches were planted across Tatale. By year-end, 40 individuals had come to Christ, with 17 baptisms and ongoing discipleship in Yachado and Tatale R/C Primary. An Easter convention commissioned five deacons and six deaconesses for pastoral work under missionaries Dominic, John and the team.
  • Kotokoli: Missionary Rashid is making steady progress in evangelism, discipleship and prayer meetings among the Kotokolis. More women than men are adherent to the faith in the tribe. So far, about 15 of them have undergone water baptism. We pray for more grace to endure persecution.
  • Dagomba: Missionaries Stephen and Samuel conduct household discipleship classes at Kpalsi and Chesie. There have also been evangelism outreaches in the Nyanpala, Lamasheigua and Mbanayili communities.
  • Kantosi: Missionaries Daniel and Moses have been commissioned since January 2025 to work among the Kantosis. We pray for God's continuous energy to break the ground for the Gospel to take root.
  • Nigeria: Missionaries Akuban Emmanuel and Joshua Duncan reached 135 individuals in the first half of the year, with 65 salvations. Discipleship efforts continued at LASUSTECH and within neighborhoods. By year-end, 71 more people were exposed to the Gospel, with 36 decisions for Christ. Evangelism in a Nigerian police station was approved, impacting officers and prisoners.
